Prosecco di Conegliano Azienda Frassinelli

No one who has been to the Frassinelli azienda can have failed to notice that the real power lies in very small hands. Francesco, 'Il capo', as Roberta Frassinelli calls her 18-month old son, is now officially running the estate, and his wine-making uncle Gianluca, who does all the physical work, reports directly to him. Not a wine is blended, not a tank racked, not a label redesigned without Francesco's say-so (although his mother has frequently to translate his gurgled instructions to her brother).

For the time being, though, il capo is leaving foreign travel to the older generation, and so it will be some time before he is seen pouring wine at a Thorman Hunt tasting in London. We understand that il capo's grandfather acts as his consigliere, and so we can be confident that the seventeen-hectare estate will be in good family hands for many years to come.
