Barolo Luigi Baudana



The changes continue at Baudana, as Luigi takes more of a back seat and starts to enjoy his retirement. Still fully involved in the selection, blending and maturation of the wines, he's leaving most of the vineyard work to the Vajra team. Giuseppe Vajra has decided to reduce the range of wines, and in future they will produce only three Barolos, (the two crus, Cerretta and Baudana, and Serralunga, from the younger vines), and one white wine.

The Dolcetto and Barbera will not be uprooted, but will go into the basic Vajra cuvées. In the meantime, however, we still have a bit of Barbera d'Alba Donatella 2007 and some Dolcetto 2007. The Langhe Rosso Lorenso 2005 is almost finished, and the final vintage of that wine will be 2007.
