Over the last few years, Bordeaux has become infamous for the stratospheric prices achieved by a handful of wines, particularly appreciated by Mr Parker and highly prized on new, foreign export markets. Through our very close connections with two chateaux owning Bordeaux families - who are also Bordeaux brokers - we are able to offer such wines to our customers on the same en primeur terms as la Place.

However, that is not the "real" Bordeaux and those are not the wines that we take home on a regular basis and which offer greater value, variety, balance, freshness, succulence and purity than almost any other wines we could mention.

During recent years, superbly committed proprietors and their talented, highly qualified, dynamic teams have revolutionised viticulture throughout the region. The resulting raw materials they have to work with have totally transformed the wines of Bordeaux. Twenty years ago, the general standard in Bordeaux was only good in very good, problem-free vintages. In the last decade, several vintages have presented a variety of climatic challenges. However, because of the diligence of the best producers, superb, delicious wines are now made on a very consistent basis.
