THORMAN HUNT SCORES VERY HIGHLY IN DECANTER TASTINGS

On the way back from York by train our friend Simon noticed the following:
Decanter Scores: Of 1242 French wines submitted to Decanter for panel tastings 289 got four of five stars.
In a list of the top 50 best value French wines of 2011:
> 15 Ch Bellefont Belcier St Emilion Grand Cru Classe 2008
> 21 Clos Fourtet St Emilion Grand Cru 2004
> 28 Chassagne Montrachet les Chaumees 1er cru Vincent Girardin 2008

In a tasting of Meursault & Chassagne Montrachet 2008

"A mind blowing tasting, particularly as 2008 was seen as a challenging vintage. Our judges felt judicious work in the vineyard countered the weather related problems faced by producers, and overallconsistency was startling. Of the two appelations, it was Chassagne that came on top against its usually more lauded neighbour."
